Tarot
Come and relax with me and a cup of something warm, to explore what the cards reveal. A space for reflection and insight.
What is Tarot?
At it’s most basic, the Tarot is a pack of 78 cards used for self-reflection, psychological insight, and divination, as well as historical and modern card games.
A tarot deck is made up of Major 22 Acana Cards, and 56 Minor Arcana Cards including 40 pip cards and 16 Court cards.
Each card in the Tarot has an archetypal meaning that spans different decks and is open to interpretation but most decks share a core foundation and structure
You can also use Oracle cards for similar self reflective activities, and sometimes i use these to compliment a reading. Oracle cards can take any form and have no set card count or standardised system the way that Tarot does.
How I read
I use the Tarot as a non-predictive tool, rooted in the present moment, common sense and critical thinking. I see each card as an invitation, not necessarily what will or won’t be. There are no “good” or “bad” cards in the Tarot. Every card is FOR you, not TO you.
Tarot can be a useful reflective practice that helps you understand your current path and decisions, and it can highlight new perspectives. My readings don’t predict the future and don’t give information about other people. Instead, we focus on you and your journey.
One of my teachers is Lindsay Mack, founder of Soul Tarot and Tarot for the Wild Soul.
What to expect in a reading
Readings take place in my art studio at Unique Cottage Studios in Spalding and last up to an hour.
We’ll start by talking about how I can be of service with the Tarot. Then we’ll drop in and pull some cards for the inquiry you bring to the reading. And of course, we’ll enjoy a cup of something warm!
Please note that I ask that you bring an inquiry with you. I don’t read without a question or query, because how would we understand an answer when we don’t know the question?
I use real physical cards and never pre-written meanings or scripts. When I’m reading for you, you have my complete energy and focus, and everything we talk about stays confidential.
Tarot at your event
I also offer short readings for festivals, parties and events. If you’d like me to bring the Tarot to your event, please get in touch.
Tarot evenings in my studio
As well as readings, I run group evenings in my studio for anyone curious about the Tarot. There’s no need to be an experienced reader or artist, and you’re welcome to bring your own deck if you have one.
Tarot Talk is a dedicated circle space for learning and discussing the Tarot, uncovering the philosophy and stories behind the cards, playing Tarot games, pulling cards and journaling with friends.
Tarot to Art is a creative space for exploring the Tarot through art and journaling. We pull cards, share stories, explore symbolism and make art inspired by the themes and archetypes of the Tarot. These evenings are about curiosity and experimentation rather than making a finished piece.
I’m not teaching one right way to read the Tarot. We share thoughts and knowledge together, take what we want and leave the rest. We are our own teachers.
Useful to know
I am welcoming to people of all walks of life, gender identities, sexual orientations, races and belief systems.
I am not a therapist or medical professional, and my readings are not a substitute for therapy or professional care. Tarot can bring up big feelings, so I encourage you to have someone supportive to talk to if you need it.
Readings are for people aged 18 or over, or with a parent or guardian present.
I honour the crucial legacy of Roma and Romani Tarot readers in the history of cartomancy, and acknowledge the persecution they have faced around their practices.
Dates for Tarot evenings are announced in my newsletter. Join below to hear about the next one.
