What I Found in the Lockers
Before the Art Locker was the Art Locker, it was a forgotten school locker pressed against the wall of a leaky shed in my garden. In January 2026, I pulled the locker out into the light to clean them. One of my neighbours told me it came from a school somewhere. When? Who knows? I expected to find a lot of rust and a lot of dirt.
But I found People.
Sticker ghosts, strange outlines where stickers had once been
Nell's locker and HANS LOCKER, both crossed out
A thick red permanent marker heart, slightly wonky
The Freddo wrapper from the top left locker
A smiley face token wedged down the back
A case of mechanical pencil lead
A green shatterproof school ruler, too big to fit in your pencil case
Someone's homework: design a key to identify the space creatures
A scrap of someone's maths homework
